BOWLS:  The most popular dish on the table!
Bowls have become overwhelmingly popular at restaurants and at home.  What is it about bowls that makes them so beloved? Probably the types of food that are served in them: warm oatmeal, hot soup, hearty chili, seasoned pasta, fresh salads, ice cream sundaes... the list goes on.  When we see a bowl we think about comfort.  Our food is cradled in an easy-to-hold vessel that allows us to curl up with it on a chair, or that conveys the feeling that the meal is inviting and cozy.  Today's cuisine is well-suited for bowls, with soups, salads and stews continuing to be popular, and "bowl" dishes -- ones that combine pastas or grains with vegetables, proteins and seasonings -- also coming to the forefront.  The advantage of bowls when setting your table is that they do not need to perfectly match your other dinnerware.  Eclectic blends create a more interesting and inviting table, so you should collect bowls that best present your favorite dishes.  Let's take a look at different sizes and shapes of bowls, and how they can be used.  When we look at each bowl, we will visualize food in them, which is a good way to decide which bowls you need for your own home.
